Sagbo linked with Hammers move

Sagbo: Would relish Hammers switch

Sagbo: Would relish Hammers switch

Reported West Ham target Yannick Sagbo says he would welcome a move to Upton Park to bolster the promotion-chasers’ attack.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce has been linked with a £2million move for the 22-year-old Benin international striker, who currently plays for French side Evian.

And Sagbo told Sky Sports: “Joining West Ham would be ideal for me. I love the Premier League, even though West Ham are in the Championship, which is also a top league.

“I want to be part of a team who will make progress. But nothing is done yet, so I am happy where I am.

“But I would love the opportunity to play in England in my career.”

Japanese ace Maeda set for West Ham trial

Ryoichi Maeda in action for Japan

West Ham are hoping to finalise a move for Japanese international striker Ryoichi Maeda.

The 30-year-old is one of the hottest properties in the J-League having twice won the Golden Boot award and has scored 115 goals in 260 appearances for his club, Jubilo Iwata.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is keen to strengthen his strike-force and feels they need a proven goalscorer to help them gain automatic promotion straight back into the Premier League.

Maeda is due to arrive in London on Tuesday for a five-day trial with the east London club and hopes to secure a permanent contract at Upton Park.
