West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is out to bounce back from their FA Cup disappointment by beating Portsmouth this weekend.
The Hammers were knocked out in the third round at Sheffield Wednesday but have the chance to give their promotion bid a shot in the arm when they travel to Fratton Park.
Allardyce’s side are currently joint-top of the Championship with Southampton, who face a trip to Nottingham Forest the same day.
“We dominated the (Sheffield Wednesday) game and created the chances to win it but unfortunately we didn’t,” said Allardyce.
“We’ve got to look forward to next week and Portsmouth.
“That will be a big game for us as we try to push on at the top of the league.”
